The OryCon29 rate is no longer available at the
Marriott.
We completely used
up our allocated block, which is good in that it makes the
hotel happy with us, but bad in that it means some
attendees may not get the discounted rate.
Check with
Patty and
Arthur
to see if someone has released a reservation, but at
this late date you may want to simply make alternative
plans.
University Place (the hotel Portland State bought)
has rooms available for our convention attendees.
The University Place Hotel & Conference Center is
located on the southwest corner of SW 4th Avenue &
Lincoln Street. Phone: (503) 221-0140
The hotel will meet our $106 rate at the Marriott, and
their parking is $12/night. Be sure to mention OryCon.
Again, email
Patty and
Arthur
instead of contacting the hotel. If you cancel that
reservation through the hotel, that room rate is gone.
If we instead transfer it to somebody else's name, we
keep the room rate. Yes it's a labor intensive process
but it does help minimize the cost of hotel
rooms for latecomers.
Per hotel rules --
no signage is to be placed in any public space with in
the hotel, elevators, guest room doors, or hallways on
guest room floors, except in designated areas. Signage
in Meeting rooms can be hung by hotel staff or by the
use of low tack painters tape on papered walls. No
push pins, nails, duct tape, or high tack tape is
permitted. Damage to walls will be the responsibility
of the group. Walls in the ballroom that are moveable
air walls are magnetic and signs can be hung using
magnets. The air walls on lobby level and 3rd floor
are cloth and T-pins or Velcro can be used.
Bulletin boards will be provided on LL2, LL1, Lobby,
3rd & 4th floor. Please note that any items found
in unauthorized places will be removed and discarded
by hotel staff.
