Childcare volunteer needed
Last updated August 24 2008
No, we don't need you to watch children. We need you to help set it all up!

OryCon 30 has an urgent need for somebody to take charge of Child Care. This is a commitment which involves contacting professional nanny services to get competitive bids and obtaining contracts for said services during con. In addition to that, you will be responsible for seeing that all the child care goods (videos, crayons, art supplies, etc.) get up to the suite and for making sure it all gets back into storage after con. After the initial setup on Thursday night, you'll also be responsible for opening and closing child care, and be the first point of contact for the nannies during the con. For this reason, you'll need to be onsite most of each day.

Contact the chairs if you wish to volunteer for this. It will take several hours of work before November, and then roughly an hour or two of work each day during con.

Unlike many other volunteer positions, this one has a tangible benefit: your children are entered into child care for free.
